Are you regular? Really? Be honest. Once or twice a day? Nice and formed? If not, have a listen to Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride. She asks you to consider healing and sealing your gut lining to restore digestive and overall health (including clearing up food intolerances). It's more than Gut and Psychology, it's broader—encompassing the entire physiology. In this audio recording Dr. Mercola interviews Dr. Campbell-McBride. She outlines the GAPS nutritional protocol for restoring the gut lining. It's 2+ hours but worth the listen. She's one brilliant woman.

Walking is Man's Best Medicine

Why do we make it so hard?

Your pH May Be a Clue.

Strawberries. Alkaline or acidic? The answer: AlkalineBalancing the pH of your blood is a major step toward well-being and greater health. What's your pH? Home test kits (like this one) may be purchased online. Or visit your naturopath or chiropractor. Many of them can do the test within minutes.

The following is an excerpt from this article:

An acidic imbalance of the body's blood pH will:

Decrease the body's ability to absorb minerals and other nutrients

Decrease the energy production in the cells, decrease it's ability to repair damaged cells

Decrease it's ability to detoxify heavy metals

Make tumor cells thrive

Make it more susceptible to fatigue and illness.

The reason acidosis is more common in our society is mostly due to the typical American diet, which is far too high in acid producing animal products like meat, eggs and dairy, and far too low in alkaline producing foods like fresh vegetables.

Additionally, we eat acid producing processed foods like white flour and sugar and drink acid producing beverages like coffee and soft drinks. We use too many drugs, which are acid forming; and we use artificial chemical sweetners like NutraSweet, Spoonful, Sweet 'N Low, Equal, or Aspartame, which are poison and extremely acid forming.

One of the best things we can do to correct an overly acid body is to clean up the diet and lifestyle.

To maintain health, the diet should consist of 60% alkaline forming foods and 40% acid forming foods. To restore health, the diet should consist of 80% alkaline forming foods and 20% acid forming foods.

Here is a list of foods to help you meet this goal.

I have become a fan of Shan Larter. Shan is an Eating Disorder Freedom Coach. She is bold, yet compassionate in her approach to coaching. I have not suffered from an eating disorder but have friends who have and have seen the toll it takes on their mental and physical health. Shan's messages have helped me to understand the inner struggles of women and men with eating disorders.

Even if eating disorders are not close to home, I highly recommend watching Shan's videos. The element of restoring health begins with good nutrition—a topic she covers in almost every message.

In this video she disscusses the "Cause of Eating Disorders" linked to "Artificial Depression"—essentially depression brought on by diet (specifically refined sugar, refined carbs and artificial sweeteners).
