larkburger You Make Me Sing

On a recent visit to Ft. Collins, Colorado and I suggested to the hubby that we see what larkburger was all about. We did the usual. He swung by the front door ... I hopped out of the car ... ran in ... asked if they had a gluten-free offering. When the young girl behind the counter pleasantly replied "yes" and when out of the corner of my eye I saw that the menu board clearly state "ask about our Gluten-Free Menu," I knew we were good to go! I gave my hungry bunch the thumbs up and they traipsed on in. Little did we know, we were in for a real gluten-free treat!
larkburger Ft. Collins © Image copyright larkburgerLet me tell you a little about larkburger. First off, the place is clean! That speaks volumes. Second, larkburger takes food allergies very seriously. That speaks even louder. Other impressions:
- The food is fresh. How often can you order edamame or a fresh green salad with your burger?
- And how many burger joints offer to top your burger with a truffle aioli?
- All plates, containers and utensils are biodegradable.
- Packaging is made with unbleached paper pulp.
- They are 100% wind-powered.
- The entire menu is preservative-free and additive-free.
And here are the real kickers!
- They offer a gluten-free burger bun that rocks! They get them from Sweet Escapes Pastries, a Boulder-based gluten-free, nut-free bakery.
- Kids EAT FREE on Monday nights (4pm 'til close)!
- Got a beef with beef? Try their turkey burger, tuna burger or portabella burger.

Thank you larkburger for doing what you do. You've got our business.
To learn more about larkburger's allergen-free offering, visit the larkburger website. I like how straightforward larkburger is with their allergen info. I wasn't handed a 20-page ingredients list to sift through prior to ordering. The menu is one page which hubby likes because he believes there is a direct correlation between the brevity of a menu and the capacity of the restaurant to successfully create each item. In his words, lesser is gooder!
Okay, now for the not-so-good news. Presently there are only four larkburger locations and they are all in Colorado. Let's cross our fingers that they become wildly successful (I'm sure they will/are) and grow their chain. Until then, you can find larkburger in Ft. Collins, Boulder, Edward and Greenwood Village, Colorado.

What a great, great find, Lexie! Maybe I'll check them out the next time I'm in Colorado. ;-) Thanks so much for sharing! Oh, and btw, I agree with your hubby on the brevity of the menu ... when I am handed the single copy of a 20-page gluten-free menu (with markthroughs even), I cringe.

Sigh. Maybe I can talk my hubby into moving back to Grand Junction? Last time we were there he said everything looked smaller. Funny.
No seriously, it would be all kinds of wonderful to see places like Larkburger proliferate, Trader Joe's too. Hey, I'd even like to see a Whole Foods within a 45 minute driving distance but who am I kidding?
Great to have you back and blogging.
Wow, what an awesome place Lexie! I hope more like this pop up in coming years.
Looks good to me. Maybe we'll get to sample while in Boulder.
Lexie - what a find! Perhaps we could sneak over there for a midnight snack during our Boulder visit!!!
When any of you visit CO, I will take you here. Went back today ... the music was a bit loud -- or maybe I am just not an electric guitar kinda girl -- but the food was fantastic again.
And Laurel, why not just move on back : )
